Your builder will typically provide you a one-year service program. You should receive a list of the subcontractors that performed the work on your new home and their phone numbers, and warranty registrations for equipment or materials, and any instructional materials for the operation and maintenance of items in your new home.
New homes are not perfect. As you live in the home, you will discover items that need attention. It is best to compile a list of touch-up items that need to be fixed and give the list to your builder at 30 days, 6 months, and 11 months after date of closing.
